Greeting
to the WUSV World Championship Universal 2025 in Hanau
SV/ WUSV-President
Dear Friends in Dog-Sports
Dear Guests – Ladies & Gentlemen:
I happily welcome you to the 14th WUSV-World Championship
UNIVERSAL – the World Championship which covers both – dog
sports based on the IGP examinations for working dogs and a show
program. This year we will travel to the town of Hanau in the beautiful
federal state of the Hesse with its charming landscape, rich traditional
cuisine and coziness where hospitality over a good glass of local wine
is highly valued. But not only country idyll but also urban life does
largely coin this state. Frankfurt as an international financial center
and important stock exchange venue are renowned all over the world. A pulsing metropolis – but then again deep in the green countryside. The regions of Spessart, Taunus and Odenwald offer further beautiful attractions for short trips.
Our venue is the beautiful town of Hanau on the Main River that also looks back on a long history rich in tradition. The Herbert-Dröse-Stadium offers us everything that is needed for a successful event. I would very much like to use this opportunity to give thanks to the town of Hanau and to her citizens for their generous hospitality.
My special thanks go to the national group of Hessen-Süd (Hesse South) under the leadership of Mr. Patrick Müller and his organizational team. Those of us who have never planned on and organized such a major event can hardly imagine how much detail work, precise foresight and commitment are required during the realization process – and this must be emphasized, all based on volunteer work.
Honorary posts are the backbone of our society and cannot be valued highly enough.
It is my personal special honor and joy that within only eight months the second WUSV-World Championship is held in Germany.
The past year was marked by substantial changes within the SV Head Quarters in Augsburg. The staff members were willing to meet every challenge however big it was and thus ensured smooth operation in the usual manner. Therefore, I would like to use this opportunity to express my thanks to the professionally working team in Augsburg.
Also in this year, we may look forward to an international selection of judges at the WUSV-World Championship UNIVERSAL. It is this diversity that makes us what we really are. For the first time, the judges who have been assigned for next year’s event for sections A to C – tracking, obedience and protection work – will be on the field as volunteer judges. This novelty applies to both – the WUSV-World Championships IP & UNIVERSAL.
The only thing left for me to say at this point is to wish the guests to our World Championship – and I do hope for many visitors from the town of Hanau and surroundings – an exciting and interesting event. For the dog sports teams who will come to us from all over the world I wish the best of luck, much success and all they hope for.
I look forward to meeting you all and send warm greetings!
Truly yours, Roswitha Dannenberg

I would also like to extend my deepest thanks to Dr. Bieri, the Mayor of Hanau and official patron of this championship. His outstanding support and the infrastructure provided by the city are of immense value to the smooth execution of the event.
As a breeder and active dog sportsman who participated in the Universal World Championships in 2022 and 2023 with my dog Aika, I truly understand the value of these gatherings. Lifelong friendships are formed here - crossing borders and cultures - and it’s inspiring to see how deeply we all care about dog sport.
Take this opportunity to celebrate the diversity and talent of the German Shepherd Dog and to strengthen the bonds of international friendship. Let’s come together and enjoy unforgettable days of sport while upholding the values that unite us: respect, dedication, and a deep love for our dogs.
